(MMO) – DAP’s Tony Pua criticised government in Dec 2015 for signing to sell a stake in Bandar Malaysia
Tony then criticised government two weeks for cancelling the sale and made all sorts of allegations.
Today, Tony criticised government for not yet selling to sell a stake in Bandar Malaysia to Wanda group.
When the sale is finally announced, expect Tony to criticise government for selling a stake in Bandar Malaysia again.
Today, Tony said that Wanda group is not stupid to buy “over-valued” Bandar Malaysia and laughed at the government for not at least signing a MOU for the sale of a stake in Bandar Malaysia to Wanda group.
He is alleging that Government is “desperate” for Wanda to come out to “bail-out” 1MDB.
Hello Tony, if government was desperate to “bail-out” 1MDB then the government wouldn’t have cancelled the previous deal, right?
Plus, this potential deal with Wanda is worth US$10 billion (RM43.4 billion) – not selling keropok – of course it will take time to firm up the details.
The fact that Wanda and the richest man in China held a special press conference with Najib shows how serious they are.
Another thing is that Najib said earlier yesterday too that the formula for equity stakes in the Bandar Malaysia development would be changed and the participants would not be just Dalian Wanda Group alone.
“We will take into account the position of China Rail Engineering Corporation and other groups that are interested,” he said.
That is why it takes time. You cannot expect a serious government to cancel a multi-billion ringgit deal 10 days ago and then immediately sign with another company straight-away, right?
Where is the deal process? Perhaps DAP does stuff like this – which is majority of their major MOUs in Penang all come to nothing. Look at the Temasik JV MOU that Penang signed years ago. Where is it now?
Anyway, when the deal with Wanda is finally completed, I hope you will then shut-up and won’t criticise government over this again. But, of course we know this will not happen coz your job is to criticise anything and everything so that you will be noticed.
