Zaid savages Rafizi over Anwar-for-PM row

(MMO) – DAP’s Datuk Zaid Ibrahim today mocked PKR’s Rafizi Ramli as a damning glimpse of Malaysia’s future, after the latter criticised him for rejecting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as the Opposition’s sole candidate to be prime minister.

Zaid earlier called PKR arrogant for insisting that the imprisoned Anwar was the opposition’s only choice for the position, noting that the position was not discussed with other members of the Pakatan Harapan pact or parties in East Malaysia.

Rafizi subsequently said that a politician with a “chequered political history” such as Zaid should not be attacking his own allies.

“If Rafizi is the future of Msia, then we really have no future. Here is the man who are scathing against anyone he disagrees with,” Zaid posted on Twitter.

Anwar is currently serving a five-year prison sentence for sodomy.

PKR, DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) top leaders held placards at the PKR congress yesterday that said “Anwar PM Ke-7” (Anwar is the 7th PM), except for PPBM chairman and former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who took pictures with his phone instead.

PPBM is the newest member of the Pakatan Harapan federal Opposition pact that is aiming to register as a formal coalition.
