Syed Saddiq pressing ahead with Najib-Mahathir forum
“According to Saddiq, he will make sure Mahathir attends the forum, adding that the event would proceed even if Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib tun Razak fails to show up”
(THE THIRD FORCE) – The gloves may soon be off.
At least, that was the impression given by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) youth chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, who told a press conference earlier today that his wing plans to organise the Nothing2Hide forum – scrapped by police in 2015 – a month from now.
The disputed forum, first organized by the Malaysian Volunteer Lawyers Association, was intended to be a platform for the public to address questions at Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak on his administration and leadership.
The scheduled dialogue became all the hype before it was scrapped by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, amid rumours Dr. Mahathir planned to show up.
Today, it seems Saddiq wants to reignite the hype by bringing Najib and Mahathir together on stage in what is likely intended to be a ‘no holds barred’ spectacle.
“We will be holding a forum as a platform for Tun Mahathir and (Prime Minister) Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Everyone can ask as many questions as they like.
