Believing in the 1MDB story is like believing in God
Of course, Sarawak Report never explained the US$2 million or RM8.4 million that Tong Kooi Ong paid Clare Rewcastle Brown to hand over to Xavier Andre Justo, and which Justo claims he never received. Sarawak Report claims to be a whistleblower website but the most important story in that whole thing, the missing US$2 million, has never been explained.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Ferdinand Marcos was Chinese and from the Chua family and is said to own the largest gold horde in history that has never been discovered
How could anybody have 500 metric tons of World War II gold tucked away in his basement? And 1,000 tons more in his beach cottage, and 500 tons more in the basement of a warehouse down the street? Plus still more on four levels beneath a nearby bank?
In the end it does not matter really whether the gold ever existed. It only matters that a lot of responsible people believe it did, and acted accordingly, including senior officers of the CIA, and of the National Security Council, and a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Believing in gold is like believing in God; the belief is the reality. And once you begin to believe any of it, you are committed to believe it all. (The Marcos Dynasty by Sterling Seagrave)

The CIA said the WMD story is fake but the President did not believe them
Mr Bush was isolated from reality and his advisors were yes men, he said. “I used to think what we said at the CIA mattered and the president would listen, but it doesn’t matter what we say, politics trumps intelligence”, he added. Mr Nixon, who left the CIA in 2011, said he was ashamed of what happened in Iraq after Saddam Hussein’s fall. (Former CIA analyst John Nixon who interrogated Saddam Hussein after he was found hiding in a cave in December 2003)

“Why Are The Pakatan People Still Asking For The Special Audit Report On 1MDB?” asked blogger LSS (READ HERE). This question has attracted many nasty responses, quite a number aimed at me. Somehow these simple-minded people cannot understand that LSS is not the initials for Raja Petra Kamarudin (which any slightly clever person would know is RPK).
One reader asked if there is nothing sinister or untoward regarding 1MDB then why does the government not respond to the questions? But that is just it. The government has responded. In fact, in the early days, Arul Kanda Kandasamy had issued statement after statement explaining what happened. The problem is the cynics and critics do not believe all these explanations. So is there any need or purpose for further explanations or more explanations of the same?
As what Sterling Seagrave said in his book ‘The Marcos Dynasty’. Once people believed that Yamashita’s gold existed and that this huge amount of gold had fallen into the hands of President Marcos, there is nothing you can say or do to change that belief. And the same applies to Saddam’s WMD (weapons of mass destruction). Even after the CIA captured Saddam and interrogated him and confirmed that no WMDs existed many people still believe they did.
Mahathir said RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money had disappeared into thin air and that becomes God’s word
The issue here is Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money had disappeared into thin air. And he also said Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak is the person who stole that RM42 billion. Then Mahathir paid Sarawak Report a lot of money to publish ‘exclusive story’ after ‘exclusive story’ and to keep repeating again and again the same story but with a different twist each time to make it appear like it is a new story.
Rafizi Ramli and Tony Pua hope to win the next general election by riding on the 1MDB issue
And then Rafizi Ramli and Tony Pua travel all over Malaysia ‘explaining’ what happened to 1MDB’s money. They allege that the government has never properly explained this issue but then when the government does explain it they turn around and say that the explanation is all lies. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
The issue here is people will believe what they want to believe. They will believe that Marcos owned the biggest cache of gold in the entire world, which ‘disappeared into thin air’ the day he died, and that Saddam had manufactured a huge stockpile of WMDs, which also ‘disappeared into thin air’ the day he was captured, and that RM42 billion of 1MDB’s money has ‘disappeared into thin air’.
How is Najib or the government going to change that perception? You can’t, just like you cannot change the minds of the people who believe that Marcos owned the largest horde of gold in the entire world, which until today has never been found, or that Saddam manufactured and hid a large number of WMDs, which until today have never been found.
