KUALA LUMPUR: The DAP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), declared illegal by the Registrar of Societies (RoS), expressed shock that the 2013 re-election of its leadership was not recognized.

In an awkward statement made at the party’s headquarters here today, the council, now illegal, accused the RoS of issuing a statement four years later to “cripple the party’s administration and to jeopardise its preparation for GE14.”

The accusation flies straight in the face of the RoS, which told the party to conduct fresh elections following complaints that the CEC’s 2012 and 2013 election and re-election were irregular.

In an interview with The Third Force yesterday (READ HERE), former DAP life member Jaspal Singh Thind lambasted the party’s de facto chief, Lim Kit Siang, for alleging that the DAP had fallen victim to a “long campaign of demonization with lies, fake news and false information.”

“In other words, there remain avenues for the party to seek recourse to the courts in the event it finds the RoS ruling unacceptable.
