Zahid: I’m ready to swear in mosque

(The Star) – Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) is willing to swear in a mosque to prove that he did not plan to topple the Prime Minister.

“If I am willing to do so, then he should also do the same.

“Besides the recording, I also have photos as evidence,” he said in his opening speech during the Baling Umno division delegates meeting at Kompleks Rakan Muda here Saturday.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who did not name Dr Mahathir in his speech, said he was ready to take on any challenge to prove his innocence by swearing at any mosque in the country.

He said he had to answer the accusations against him to stop people from believing the allegations.

On Friday, Dr Ahmad Zahid said that he had a voice recording of the meeting and it was an individual who suggested a no-confidence motion against Najib.

Dr Mahathir had recently alleged that during his meeting with Dr Ahmad Zahid, the latter had asked for his support to replace Najib.
