Pakatan Harapan announces 3 new appointments
Azmin Ali is elections director, Mohamad Sabu is communications chairman and Zuraida Kamaruddin is women’s head.
(FMT) – The Pakatan Harapan (PH) presidential council today announced three new appointments in the opposition coalition.
In a statement, the council announced Selangor menteri besar Mohamed Azmin Ali as elections director to further strengthen the elections committee chaired by Muhyiddin Yassin.
It also announced Amanah president Mohamad Sabu as communications and mobilisation committee chairman, and PKR women’s chief Zuraida Kamaruddin as the coalition’s women’s head.
At a press conference earlier, Mahathir said the setting up of three state coalitions had been completed with Lim Guan Eng, Muhyiddin and Azmin being made PH chairmen for Penang, Johor and Selangor respectively.
“For other states, the setting up of the state PH will be completed in two months.”
On the issue of the PH logo being submitted to the Registrar of Societies (RoS), Mahathir said he hoped to get approval as soon as possible as the coalition needed the logo to prepare for the general election.
“We need to have banners with the PH logo,” he said.
The RoS was reported to have instructed PH to change its logo in order to approve and formalise the coalition’s registration for the upcoming general election.
