Sarawak Report plays DAP’s brand of hate politics

(LSS) – Two days ago, Sarawak Report said they had uncovered evidence that two kids had been paid scholarships by 1MDB while Ananda Krishnan had paid RM2 billion to 1MDB in 2012, which they claim is a refund for the “over-priced” purchase of Ananda’s power assets.

It is strange that SR now goes to complain that Ananda paid back RM2 billion to 1MDB when it had all along claimed that 1MDB overpaid Ananda by RM2 billion.

While I am not certain why Ananda paid back this amount, I believe it could be related to the RM2 billion that Ananda had agreed to invest in the planned IPO of Edra then – perhaps as collateral.

However, what I take offense with SR is that they claim that 1MDB had paid expensive scholarships to two kids to imply that 1MDB is being used to pay the “elites”.

One of those that SR listed was the daughter of a Sabah MP who died tragically while in office in a motorcycle accident in Oct 2010 who was given AUS$107,605 as scholarship to pay for her university course which she had just started in Australia.

The other person being paid by 1MDB for education which SR took offence at and said was a “titled person” was Tengku Ahmad S Tengku Omar.

SR said he was paid extraordinarily high fees for a US scholarship totaling US$673,000 for the years 2011-2014.

However, Tengku Ahmad is actually the father of Tengku Ahmad Irfan Tengku Ahmad Shahrizal  – or better known as just Tengku Irfan and the scholarship is for him care of his father.

Tengku Irfan, who was a minor then in 2011-2014, is considered as Malaysia’s most gifted piano child prodigy and was doing a double major in the famed Julliard music school in New York then.

What is SR trying to incite hatred and making all sorts of accusations that 1MDB is wrong to help the daughter of a MP who died tragically while serving the public or wrong to help nurture the  talent of one of Malaysia’s brightest musician who has now taken the world by storm?

Is SR now confirming that 1MDB had kept quiet while helping a lot of people?

And why is SR complaining that Ananda paid back RM2 billion when it had always claimed that Ananda was overpaid RM2 billion?

It looks like SR goal is just to incite hatred on behalf of the opposition by writing all sorts of rubbish.
