Grow Up Rafizi and Latheefa

However, in the midst of this name calling, Latheefa has hurled some serious allegations against Rafizi, claiming he has collected millions of Ringgit from the people, which till today remains unaccounted for.

(Malaysia Impact) – Is the ongoing feud between PKR vice-president, Rafizi Ramli and its central committee member, Latheefa Koya just plain childish stupidity or is it being done to divert attention from bigger problems affecting the party?

Name calling and hurling allegations just because of some poorly designed logos just goes to prove the mentality of those within PKR.

The lawyer also claimed that Rafizi had repeatedly made false promises and also engaged in money politics to allegedly buy off people.

As dumb as this squabble may be, Rafizi should do what is politically correct and respond to these allegations – this is something he owes to his voters.

On the other hand, in making such serious allegations, Latheefa should on her part come out with the relevant proof to back them.

As a lawyer, she should know that mere allegations alone hold no water and these must be proved beyond reasonable doubt.

Thus, both now have a duty to their electorate to explain and rebut these allegations.

Latheefa, in her haste to attack Rafizi, has also dragged Deputy Prime Minister Zahid Hamidi into the field, claiming he (Rafizi) was actually a proxy for Zahid, planted in PKR to cause problems.

Surely, Zahid does not have to go to that level, and besides, Barisan Nasional does not need any agent to create problems within PKR – as they are doing it well enough on their own.

Rafizi himself openly admitted there was a silent campaign within the party working against him and everyone knows about the pro and anti-PAS supporters within PKR.

Rafizi had named Azmin, Tian Chua, Shamsul Iskandar, Xavier Jeyakumar, Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin, Zuraida Kamaruddin, R. Sivarasa, Saifuddin Abdullah, Kamaruddin Jaafar and Fahmi Fadzil as among those who favoured working with PAS.

On the other hand, William Leong, secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, Tan Yew Kew, Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Johari Abdul, Sim Tze Tzin and
Fariz Musa were opposed to the idea of working with PAS.

At the end of the day, the only conclusion is that the entire Pakatan Harapan set up is just a joke and even before going into battle for the general election, it is already falling apart.

Recently, the Pakatan presidential council issued a statement they will not cooperate with PAS.

In contrast, PKR Deputy Youth Head Afif Bahardin issued another statement stressing that cooperating with PAS was Anwar Ibrahim’s decision and this was supported by Azmin.

This means that Pakatan’s presidential council led by Tun Dr Mahathir has now gone against it’s own de-facto leader’s decision.

The statement was signed by Pakatan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir, president Dr Wan Azizah and deputy presidents Muhyiddin Yassin, Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu.

The general election is merely going to see another repeat of what transpired during the twin by-elections last year where Azmin tried to convince PAS for a straight fight in Kuala Kangsar whereas Pakatan would contest directly against BN in Sungai Besar.

Negotiations, which went on till the 11th hour failed and the opposition votes were split among Pakatan and PAS, giving a resounding victory to BN.

Considering all this self-destruction, surely BN does not need to plant a mole within or anywhere near Pakatan or PKR.
