PKR Kelantan Chairman Refuses To Recognise New State Youth Chief

(Bernama) — PKR Kelantan chairman Ab Aziz Ab Kadir has refused to recognise the appointment of Mohd Khairul Amin Ab Rahman as the new PKR Kelantan Youth chief.

He said the appointment of Mohd Khairul Amin by national PKR National Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad to replace Dr Mohd Hafidz Rizal Amran, who was sacked from the post two days ago, did not comply with party rules because the matter should have been negotiated with the Youth division chiefs as well as the state PKR chairman.

“Unfortunately, Nik Nazmi has failed to implement the process. I found that it was not done in a fair and democratic manner. Therefore, I do not recognise the appointment of the new PKR Kelantan Youth chief,” he said in a statement today.

Nik Nazmi sacked Dr Mohd Hafidz Rizal as the PKR Kelantan Youth chief with immediate effect on Monday via a WhatsApp message after the PKR Kelantan Committee said it had lost confidence in Dr Mohd Hafidz.

However, the dismissal was believed to be linked to a report saying PKR Kelantan was divided into two groups, with one of them being ‘PAS-friendly’ even though the party had decided to end its ties with PKR.

Based on previous media reports, Dr Mohd Hafidz was said to be one of the leaders who preferred working with PAS in order to retain the PKR political appointments in the state.
