Own up to your claims, PKR leaders told

(FMT) – A PKR leader has urged fellow leaders to own up to their own opinions, after vice-president Rafizi Ramli accused “two or three” leaders of feeding false information to the media under the guise of “internal sources”.

“If you want to say something, let it out truthfully. And let everybody know that you have that stand and that opinion. Without any hesitation,” said PKR information chief Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh.

He said speaking to the media about party affairs under cover of anonymity would undermine the party.

Rafizi yesterday lashed out at “two or three” leaders of fuelling media speculations about PKR, following cracks over the party’s cooperation with PAS.

Last week, Rafizi criticised PKR’s top leadership, saying decisions by its powerful political bureau were frequently ignored.

Following this, a Sin Chew Daily quoted “internal sources” as saying that the party had issued a warning to the Pandan MP, a claim dismissed by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Syed Ibrahim said the practice of speaking to the media as “unnamed sources” was irresponsible.

But Rafizi’s colleague, Xavier Jayakumar blamed the media speculations on Rafizi’s series of accusations.

“To me it is mischievous. Because he has got no clue whatsoever and he’s simply accusing people. And I think he should put a stop to it,” said Xavier, one of four PKR vice-presidents.
