PKR-PAS ties: Anwar’s letter fake, says Chegubard
The ex-PKR man believes that the letter said to be written by Anwar was made up by individuals with links to Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali
(Berita Daily) – Former PKR member Badrul Hisham Shaharin questioned the letter said to be from incarcerated opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim sanctioning PKR’s move to work with PAS.
Speaking to Berita Daily, Badrul or better known as Chegubard, said that the statement from Anwar was made by certain quarters to justify PKR deputy president Azmin Ali’s effort in talking to the Islamic party.
“From my experience in talking and communicating with Anwar Ibrahim, I can say that the letter was not written by him.
“The statement can be made in many ways. I believe that it was copied, re-written and was published to benefit some people.
“What is clear, the statement was made up to justify Azmin’s negotiation effort that it was all Anwar’s wish,” he said.
Speaking further, Chegubard who was sacked from PKR not long ago explained that there were uncertainties in the letter about working with PAS and Umno.
“We have been told that PAS had received 1MDB money from Najib but if we read the letter carefully, it is like Anwar has accepted PAS’ denial.
“So if Anwar accepts the denial, it means that Sarawak Report is lying, Rafizi Ramli and Husam Musa are lying. That is why I say that the statement is a fraud. It was made up.
“Secondly, it is impossible for Anwar to make a flip-flop statement. He is a precise and firm individual,” he added.
Anwar’s letter was published yesterday after Pakatan Harapan presidential council meeting decided to end its cooperation with PAS.
PAS on the other hand had made it clear that it won’t be working with PKR, DAP, Amanah and PPBM but did not state clearly about its ties with Umno.
The letter also emerged after Rafizi’s call for PKR to hold a special congress to discuss the PKR-PAS relationship.
