Wan Azizah must stop Azmin-Rafizi row, says political analyst

The PKR president must call for a close door meeting with Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli in order to resolve the issue

(Berita Daily) – It is time for PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to act as a leader and end the dispute between Azmin Ali and Rafizi Ramli, said Prof Dr Awang Azman Awang Pawi today.

When contacted, the political analyst opined that a closed door meeting between the president, deputy president and vice president to be held in order to settle the matter amicably.

“The president must get involved and act as a leader. The best way to handle the matter is to have a close door meeting between those involved in the dispute.

“This matter must be settled indoor and must not be allowed to continue. All these while they have been accusing Umno – Barisan Nasional as the parties that were trying to cause them trouble but it is evident now that their internal dispute is causing the whole problem,” he said.

The political observer then continued that if the matter is not solved soon, it will jeapordise Pakatan Harapan and PKR’s chances to win in vital seats in the upcoming general election.

“It cannot be allowed to go on. It will ruin PKR’s image to voters and also new voters. It shows that PKR is an unstable party and is not able to solve its own internal problem,” he added.

The dispute between Azmin and Rafizi is no longer a secret. Azmin, through his loyal followers such as lawyer Latheefa Koya, have been attacking Rafizi on Facebook.

Without mentioning names, Latheefa has several times launched scathing attacks on her fellow party member accusing Rafizi as the person responsible for the failure of  the Kajang Move and accused the Pandan MP for not attending party meetings.

Rafizi on the other hand admitted that the person meant by Latheefa was him but said he has no time to respond to her wild accusations.

Recently, Rafizi also called for PKR to hold a special congress to talk about the party’s relationship with PAS but Azmin shot down the idea saying it was unnecessary.

Johor PKR vice chairman Jimmy Puah echoed Awang Azman’s sentiment saying the time has come for Wan Azizah to show her credibility.

He also said that the matter would soon ruin PKR’s image if it is not settled.

“It is time for the president to show her leadership capabilities. Call everyone involved for a meeting and discuss the best way to end the dispute.

“Although I feel everyone is entitle to speak up I think this matter if not solved will cause disharmony and harm the party more,” he added.
