Report RM5 million offer to MACC, Wee tells Syed Saddiq

The MCA deputy president says what the PPBM Youth chief claimed was “just another political gimmick”

(Berita Daily) – PPBM Youth Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman should lodge a report with the authorities if he has evidence he was offered money to leave the country, said MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong.

He said what Syed Saddiq had claimed was “just another political gimmick” that often emerges when a general election draws closer.

“I would read it as an entertainment news. Very entertaining,” he told reporters after launching the “Digital Transformation @ Take your business to greater heights” workshop here, reported The Star.

“If this young man has the evidence, he should just report it to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the authorities,” said Wee, who is Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

On Monday, Syed Saddiq claimed during a press conference that he was offered RM5 million to leave the country, and that his family had been harassed.

He said he had decided to defer his Masters in Public Policy at Oxford University in Britain for the coming academic year.
