Syed Saddiq makes police report, claims threat and blackmail
(FMT) – PPBM Youth chief Syed Saddiq Abdul Rahman said today he has lodged a police report that he and his family had received threats.
He gave no details on the content of his report or to which police station he made it in his short message on Whatsapp.
“I have been to the police station. I apologise for not informing the media since it involved a personal threat and blackmail against me and my family.
“I may call a media conference or issue a statement after getting advice from the police,” his message read.
At a media conference on Monday, Syed Saddiq claimed he was offered RM5 million by a “senior adviser of the prime minister” to leave his party and take up post-graduate studies overseas.
He said the “bribe” included grants to help him set up debate schools in the country.
Besides that, he alleged he was also told to criticise PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, its president Muhyiddin Yassin and deputy president Mukhriz Mahathir, and paint the party’s struggle as one aimed to benefit the leaders rather than the common people.
