The next step the police must take to clear the AG’s name

It is very important that the police tell the public what we discussed, which is on record and which I signed. First is that the AG is innocent since he is a victim of name-dropping. This was the conclusion arrived at after the five-hour interrogation session which involved going through the stack of documents. And to reinforce this the police must also record the statement of the Chairman of Tabung Haji, Azeez Rahim, to establish his devious involvement in order to clear the AG’s name of any wrongdoing. If not the allegations that the AG has been subjected to can never be erased and laid to rest.

On Wednesday, 1st November 2017, I spent about five hours with three police officers from Bukit Aman who had flown in from Kuala Lumpur to recored my statement regarding a police report the Attorney-General made against me. The police report was in relation to three articles which were published in Malaysia Today (Strong rumours surrounding the AG: part 1, Strong rumours surrounding the AG: part 2 and Strong rumours surrounding the AG: part 3).

What is most interesting is that the Tabung Haji Chairman, Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim, paid his side-kick, Ramesh Rao, a certain sum of money to attack me and call me a pariah, a coward, and so on, who dares not return to Malaysia to face the music. This is most unbecoming of someone who holds the position of a Tabung Haji Chairman. Anyway, the attack suggests that Azeez is worried about what is going to be revealed and from the stack of very damaging and incriminating documents I handed over to the police he certainly has cause to be worried.

Ramesh himself admitted this so if Azeez wishes to deny this then he better speak to his mercenary, Ramesh. Azeez has declared war on me and if war is what he wants war is what he will get. And the evidence I gave the police is enough to hang Azeez ten times over — trust me on this one.

Azeez better be warned I never start a fight I cannot win. I only fight when I can win. And when I took Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s side against Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that was because I knew without any doubt I was on the side of the winner and not on the side of the loser.

The other thing Azeez must remember is he needs to choose his victims and enemies more carefully — more carefully than you choose your friends. Never take on the wrong enemy, as Rule 19 of the book ‘The Laws of Power’ advises.

Anyway, what Azeez and Ramesh may have forgotten is that the Malaysian High Commission office in London is Malaysian soil. So technically I did return to Malaysia to have my statement recorded. At first they asked me which hotel I would like to meet but I insisted we meet at the Malaysian High Commission office in London. In fact, I could have asked them to come to Manchester and they would have done so,

So what pariah coward is Azeez or Ramesh talking about? My mother is Welsh and my father is of mixed Bugis-Orang Asli parentage. In Wales or in the southwestern peninsula of the Celebes, now known as Sulawesi, there is no pariah class. Maybe Azeez and Ramesh can enlighten us on where pariahs come from.

It is now a week since the police recorded my statement in London and thus far we have heard nothing more about the matter. When the police report was made regarding those three articles, it took less than a week for the three police officers from Bukit Aman to fly up to London to record my statement, a session that took about five hours and which went into great detail — word-for-word and line-by-line of those articles.

They say one week is a long time in politics. Well, one week is also long enough for the police to complete their investigation and tell the world what the score is. And since they made it public knowledge that they were flying up to the UK to record my statement regarding their investigation into those three articles, it is their moral obligation to also make public the result of that investigation.

I have done my civic duty so it now Bukit Aman’s duty to do theirs

It is very important that the police tell the public what I told them (and this is on record and signed by me). And what I told them is that since those three articles were published new evidence has emerged that clears the Attorney-General and points to the fact that his name was being used by the Tabung Haji Chairman, Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim. If the police investigation also reveals the same then it would be apparent that the AG is a victim in this entire fraud perpetrated by Azeez.

And if it is true that the AG is a victim in this fraud perpetrated by Azeez, then it is the duty of the police to say so in the interest of not only clearing the AG’s name but to also make sure that the office of the AG is above suspicion and the dignity of that office can be upheld. It is crucial that the police announce they have already interviewed Azeez. In order to clear the AG’s name they must interview Azeez and record his statement. I have already done my part and now the police must do their part, if they have not yet done so.

The purpose of the Bukit Aman police officers coming to the UK was to interrogate me and record my statement and establish the truth. Has the truth not already been established? If it has then the police have to say so. If they keep quiet the impression they will be giving is that what was alleged against the AG is true after all and that he is not a victim of fraud. And in my statement to the police it was agreed that the evidence points to the fact that Azeez had been using the AG’s name to perpetuate fraud.

So the police must now say so or else the allegations that the AG has been subjected to can never be erased and laid to rest.
