DAP leader wants RoS to probe party re-election
Asam Kumbang branch deputy chairman says list of CEC candidates was not updated.
(FMT) – A DAP leader today asked the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to investigate the re-election of the party’s central executive committee (CEC) on Nov 12, saying it might not have adhered to regulations.
Santokh Singh, who is deputy chairman of the DAP Asam Kumbang branch, said the list of CEC candidates had not been updated and contained the names of people who had died or left the party.
He said the late DAP chairman, Karpal Singh, garnered 43 votes in the re-election while three people who had left the party also received votes, namely John Fernandez (eight), Zulkifli Mohd Noor (43) and Roseli Abdul Ghani (eight).
“It was strange that the appointed accounting firm failed to comply with the regulations, so much so that it caused much dissatisfaction to many,” he said to reporters after handing over an official complaint to Rahida Mohamed, a representative of the RoS, here.
