Police probe on MACC chief still ongoing

The AG has returned the investigation papers to the police as he was not satisfied

(Berita Daily) – Police investigation papers against Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) director general Dzulkifli Ahmad were sent to the Attorney-General’s Chambers on Oct 17 but were returned to the police two weeks later, said Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamed (pic), wrapping up the budget allocation for his ministry today.

“The police have probed the case involving the video that allegedly featured the MACC DG and the investigation papers were sent to the AG on 17 October. It was returned to the police for further investigation two weeks later,” said Nur Jazlan.

Dzulkifli had been implicated in allegations following a video clip that allegedly depicted the MACC chief holding hands with a married women in Bali, Indonesia. The woman has since divorced her husband but denied that the MACC boss was a factor in her divorce.

Responding to this, Gobind Singh Deo (Puchong -DAP) questioned whether the police had recorded Dzulkifli’s statement.

“Last week it was reported that the statement was not taken yet. How can the investigation papers be sent if the statement of MACC DG was not taken yet?”

Nur Jazlan however neither declined nor confirmed whether the police had taken a statement from Dzulkifli. He gave an assurance that the investigation was still ongoing.

“The investigation papers was returned. The case is still alive. It is the police concern.”

To this, Gobind accused thatNur Jazlan was not concerned over the case.

“You are obviously not concerned.

The whole country is concerned.  In the case of police enticing woman, police presence in the night club, there was immediate action.

“Has the statement  been recorded?”

Nur Jazlan however defended his reply.

“It is already dealt with. The AG is dissatisfied with the investigation papers. We have to investigate on the basis that one is innocent until proven guilty.”
