The Eastern sector of Jerusalem was captured by Israel in the 1967 six-day war and because of the city’s religious significance to Jews, annexed almost immediately by Israel but t’was a move not recognised internationally, even by the USA.

Regardless of whether Palestinians claim East Jerusalem for their capital of an independent state they seek, the move by the USA to have its embassy in Jerusalem indicates the Americans have now accepted Israel’s annexation of East Jerusalem in blatant disregard of international laws. This is the crux of the matter.
Only ignoramus Trump with his invincibly pro Israeli stand and anti-Muslim hatred would dare to ignore international laws to have the US Embassy in Jerusalem.
But it would appear Trump has no choice but to appease his supporters, principally the religious-conservative Yanks who are very pro Israel because of their staunch Christian beliefs, that Israel must be protected to ensure and enable the Messiah’s Second Coming.
Obviously those Muslims who do not wish to have peace with Israel or USA will secretly rejoice as the Trump’s moronic move will keep the anti-Israel and anti-US flames alight.
