Nur Jazlan pours cold water on Mahathir’s promises
(The Star) – Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed (pic) has poured cold water on the promises made by Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Pribumi) chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
The Deputy Home Minister pointed out that it was very unlikely for the former premier to be quite liberal in decision-making, as this was against his true nature.
“Who uses the Internal Security Act (ISA) and Operasi Lalang for his own selfish needs? A leopard never change his spots and being dictatorial is part of him,” said Nur Jazlan.
He also said that he did not find it impossible for Dr Mahathir to use Pakatan Harapan as a vehicle to push his son, Datuk Seri Mukhriz to become the Prime Minister one day.
Dr Mahathir had said that Pribumi would ensure freedom of speech once Pakatan successfully takes over the country’s administration.
Dr Mahathir said this in his opening speech during Pribumi‘s annual general assembly (AGM) held in Shah Alam.
He added the action of directing the police to nab anyone who voiced out their opinion either through speech or social media must stop.
