‘Almost all PPBM divisions are disappointed with Dr M’
(NST) – Kelantan Umno information chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Che Ahmad said PPBM division leaders and members in the state appeared to have realised that Dr Mahathir had a “hidden agenda” and the opposition pact Pakatan Harapan was without future.
More Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) divisions in Kelantan are in the pits over the leadership of party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
Kelantan Umno information chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Che Ahmad said PPBM division leaders and members in the state appeared to have realised that Dr Mahathir had a “hidden agenda” and the opposition pact Pakatan Harapan was without future.
“Some of them are shocked with Dr Mahathir’s decision on many issues, especially ones involving seat allocation.
“The utter disappointment is not only expressed by PPBM Kota Baru division but other divisions as well,” Mohd Alwi said in a statement today.
The Kok Lanas assemblyman was commenting on PPBM Kota Baru division leaders who were reported to have lost faith in the party over seat allocations ahead of 14th General Election (GE14).
Mohd Alwi said most of them were turned off by the continuous slanders committed Dr Mahathir, PPBM president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his deputy Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.
“For me, a political party is set up to champion struggle national struggles, the country and religion.
“But PPBM is formed after the interest of one man and his hatred towards Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. PPBM will never last.”
PPBM Kota Baru had on Sunday called for Dr Mahathir to step down from his party post and make way younger leaders.
