Malaysia not a failed state, says Hadi
PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang says good policies should be maintained and bad ones corrected or eliminated.
(FMT) – PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang yesterday denied that Malaysia was a failed state, saying it is rich in revenue sources and has vast potential.
He said the government had drawn up policies which had benefited the people, and which, if necessary, should be improved to provide more efficient services.
“Good policies should be maintained and bad ones should be corrected or eliminated,” he said when launching the Gagasan Sejahtera manifesto for the 14th general election (GE14) here last night.
Gagasan Sejahtera comprises PAS, Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) and Barisan Jemaah Islamiah SeMalaysia (Berjasa).
Hadi, who is also Gagasan chairman, added that PAS would be fair in solving the problems faced by the country if given the mandate in GE14.
“As a mature and capable opposition, PAS will face the general election and does not want to topple the government using the back door,” he said.
The manifesto encompasses nine core thrusts and 20 key offerings, including solving problems such as the cost of living and wiping out loans from the National Higher Education Fund Corporation.
