Mahathir Cannot Claim Innocence On The Real Private Adam Story, Blogger Says
(Malaysian Digest) – Following the public apology made by Private Adam’s family, the real story of tragic incident in 1987 has surfaced and along with it, questions over the role played by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
While the mainstream press has frontpaged the story of the family of Private Adam Jaafar offering their heartfelt apology to the Johor royal family, most of the bloggers have focused on the story behind the tragedy.
If the Sultan of Johor can be slandered and defamed by Mahathir, what would be the fate of the raykat, questioned a recent posting on theunspinners.blogspot.my
The posting went on to highlight what a known Mahathir supporters fanpage, Mahathir The Legend, posted on Facebook in February 2017.
The Facebook posting tried to paint Mahathir as the victim in being accused of trying to curb the powers of the Malay rulers by deliberately rehashing the rumours over Private Adam’s death.
The long-standing rumour alleges that Private Adam ran amok in Jalan Chow Kit with a stolen M16, Kuala Lumpur in 1987 because his brother was beaten to death by the late Sultan of Johor, Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail when he worked as the Sultan’s golf caddy.

How much does this tragic incident have to do with what happened in 1992, when Mahathir launched a campaign to remove the immunity of the Malay rulers leading to Parliament passing the amemdments the following year?
Another posting on the blog Another Brick In The Wall takes a closer look at Mahathir’s hidden hand in this incident.
“When asked, Mahathir refused to comment on the Prebet Adam incident. At the time of the incident, he was Home Minister and his brother-in-law, General (R) Tan Sri Hashim Ali was for Chief of Army and later Chief of Defense Forces,” the blogposting highlighted.
The blogger points out that Mahathir cannot keep brushing off the incident after Private Adam’s family public apology given the many public appearences he has lined up before election day.
“Mahathir is due to hold a political rally at Kubang Pasu tomorrow night and Langkawi on the 15th where he is expected to announce his candidacy at either of the two seats with Langkawi more likely.
“He cannot claim innocence on the real Prebet Adam story,” the blogger observed over how Mahathir’s hand can be seen in how his lackeys engineered the infamous statutory declaration.
Concluding, the blogpost recommends that Mahathir come clean and offer his apology like he did over the recent ‘Keling’ remark.
“Come to think of it, he refused to apologise to two Malay rulers but could obey Ambiga. How pathetic he could be!”
