Pakatan now a registered coalition, says Muhyiddin
(NST) – The Registrar of Societies has approved Pakatan Harapan’s application to become a registered political coalition.
This was announced by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is the Home Minister designate, at a PH rally held at Padang Timur, here tonight.
Muhyiddin said the development was relayed to him by the Home Ministry’s secretary-general.
Tonight, I am announcing, as the Home Minister, a decision that is long awaited. This (decision) did not involve me as I have not been sworn in yet.
“I would to announce that PH’s application to be registered was approved today. This was related to me by the Home Ministry’s secretary-general,” he said.
Muhyiddin also said Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) has been reinstated as a legal entity and there are no longer any issues related to its registration.
Both the pact and PPBM was not registered in time for the recently-concluded 14th General Election.
RoS reportedly cited issues with PPBM’s annual general meeting and breaches over the party’s constitution for the hold up in registration, which also led to problems with PH’s registration as a political coalition.
