Pakatan offers helping hand to rebuild Terengganu

(The Star) – As the dust starts to settle after GE14 in Terengganu, Pakatan Harapan hopes to lend a helping hand in rebuilding the east coast state with the PAS-led state government.

State Pakatan chairman Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah said there are several issues in the state that needs to be settled from the yet to be repaired roof at the Sultan Mizan stadium to the long-abandoned Knowledge Park project in Tembila.

“These are among the problems that Mentri Besar Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar has inherited and we need to find a solution to such problems in order to reinstate the honour of the Terengganu people,” he said.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin said he had a meeting with Dr Ahmad Samsuri on Wednesday (May 23) evening and had discussed plans to rebuild Terengganu.

Despite not having any representatives in the state assembly, he said Pakatan is ready to offer constructive criticism or opinions that would help towards achieving their shared goals.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin said now is the time to set aside differences and find common ground in order to rebuild the state.

“I feel that we need to temporarily put politics aside to focus on regaining the trust of the people which has been shattered by many scandals such as 1MDB, the Felda land scandal and many others,” he said.

Raja Kamarul Bahrin also reiterated his offer to be the conduit between the Federal and state governments if it will help push along the shared vision of rebuilding Terengganu.
