(FMT) – Former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad has been retired, sources say.
Speaking to FMT, the source said the Yang di-Pertuan Agong had agreed to the government’s advice that Dzulkifli be retired after the termination of his service with the Judicial and Legal Service on June 8. The source added that Dzulkifli would also be entitled to his pension.
Neither Dzulkifli nor Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa were available for comment.

Mahathir and Daim have personally discussed with Jho Low the terms of his ‘protection’
Now that the ‘troublesome obstacle’ has been moved out of the way, MACC can proceed with the plan to nail ex-Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak. Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Daim Zainuddin have already personally discussed the terms of the ‘settlement agreement’ with Low Taek Jho a.k.a. Jho Low. So now it is left to Jho Low’s lawyers and MACC to finalise the details of the agreement.
Basically, Jho Low will be given immunity from prosecution, which they will call ‘witness protection’. And that will mean Jho Low will be a ‘witness’ to testify against Najib. In exchange for ‘protection’, Jho Low will provide ‘information’ that will implicate Najib in a conspiracy to steal 1MDB’s money.
That ‘information’, however, will be provided by the government. In other words, the script or narrative will be prepared by Mahathir and Daim and Jho Low will just state what is on that script. Jho Low is not to state anything more or anything less than the prepared script.

The narrative being prepared is going to be the testimony from Jho Low to nail Najib as the chief conspirator or mastermind of the 1MDB heist. After one month of ‘investigating’, Mahathir and Daim have discovered there is no evidence that they can use to arrest and charge Najib. Mahathir himself admitted in an interview that if they arrest and charge Najib the case will not stick in court and Najib will be able to walk free.
So Jho Low’s testimony is very crucial if they want to see Najib in jail. And that ‘testimony’ is now being prepared by MACC, which is why they needed to get rid of the previous MACC chief commissioner, Dzulkifli Ahmad. They need to move fast on this because it is already more than 30 days since GE14 and Najib is still walking around a free man. And people are beginning to ask: if Najib really did steal 1MDB’s money, as Mahathir and Pakatan Harapan allege, then why isn’t Najib in jail yet…as promised.
Of course, the excuse from Pakatan Harapan is 30 days is not enough time to build a case against Najib. In fact, even 100 days is not enough time. But then in July 2015 they declared they have all the evidence they need to prove that Najib did steal 1MDB’s money, enough evidence to even draft a charge sheet.
