The worrying Bursa Malaysia trend

They say the stock market is the ‘barometer’ of the public’s confidence level on a country’s economic and political stability. It also shows the public’s confidence on a country’s leadership and the direction the country is going.
If this is true, then what is happening in the Bursa Malaysia does not bode well for the confidence level on Malaysia. Politicians, especially those in positions of power, need to be very cautious and not send the wrong signals to the public lest it affects public confidence.
Even though share prices do not always reflect the country’s fundamentals, it does cause a run on the market when the confidence level drops. And when those in power shoot their mouth off this confidence level is affected.
