Umno and PAS leaders truly deserve to be labelled as morons
Persatuan Patriot Kebangsaan (PATRIOT) observes that racial politics is rearing its ugly head again. In a spate of a few days opposition politicians from Umno and PAS spewed racial sentiments to give the impression that they were heroes championing the cause of the Malays
Using race and religion to sow societal discord and hatred has been proven a failed strategy in the last general election.
If leaders of Umno and PAS still fail to realise this, then they truly deserve to be labelled as morons.
Our country is now faced with many challenges ahead — to pay a gargantuan national debt of RM1 trillion, a rising interest rate, a looming world recession, fast rising unemployment rate, plus a dilemma of whether to continue with the lopsided contracts in the infrastructure projects.
Patriot implores all Malaysians to rally around our Prime Minister and his Cabinets, stay united, prepare to work hard, and together we face the challenges ahead.

Umno must stop talking about Malay issues and Islam
What Mohamed Arshad Raji said is basically the same as what Umno’s Khairy Jamaluddin said. Malays must no longer talk about Malay issues or issues concerning Islam. They must only talk about ‘universal’ issues, including but not confined to gay rights.
Malaysia’s new Foreign Minister, Saifuddin Abdullah, on the other hand said, “Journalists do not have to worry about receiving calls from the Prime Minister’s Office or other ministers. In fact, it is okay to hold more debates.” (READ HERE)
So, Mohamed Arshad Raji said stop talking. Umno’s Khairy Jamaluddin said stop talking. And Malaysia’s new Foreign Minister, Saifuddin Abdullah, said keep debating.
In Pakatan Harapan’s ‘New’ Malaysia there are no sacred cows or taboos and there is absolute freedom
This ‘New’ Malaysia of Pakatan Harapan is indeed a very confusing place. Do we or do we not talk and debate? Or are there certain things we are allowed to talk about and certain things we are not allowed to talk about? What are the boundaries and which sits on which side of the boundary?
If the difference between Pakatan Harapan, Barisan Nasional (or Umno) and PAS is that Pakatan Harapan is a liberal and non-extremist party (compared to conservative and extremist Umno and PAS) that would mean there are NO boundaries. You cannot be a little bit pregnant. You are either pregnant or you are not. But then how would this sit with Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad?
Mahathir once said absolute democracy and freedom of speech is not suitable for Malaysia and that Malaysia must practice ‘guided’ democracy and censorship. Has Mahathir changed his mind on that or does he still believe Malaysia must practice ‘guided democracy’ and censorship and not absolute democracy and freedom of speech?
Has Mahathir abandoned his ‘guided’ democracy and censorship dogma of the ‘Old’ Malaysia in favour of absolute freedom?
Pakatan Harapan is sending out mixed signals and it is confusing Malaysians. As it is, Pakatan Harapan is opposed to action being taken against those who question the monarchy or propagate Malaysia being turned into a republic. That is sedition, say some people. Others say in the ‘New’ Malaysia everything can be disputed and questioned.
To be honest, when it comes to freedom of thought, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of the media (social media such as blogging included), etc., I am 100% with Pakatan Harapan. I will give my vote to Pakatan Harapan on that.
Pakatan Harapan is talking about abolishing the monarchy in favour of the Republic of Malaysia
Pakatan Harapan says the constitutional monarchy is outdated and Malaysia should be turned into a republic. Pakatan Harapan also says Malaysia is a secular state and not a theological state. That would mean, first of all, Islam (or any other religion for that matter) cannot be binding upon you while the Raja-Raja Melayu (who would no longer exist) would also no longer be the head of Islam.
Based on this new Pakatan Harapan Manifesto, that would mean Muslims can no longer be prevented from leaving Islam to become atheists, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, or whatever. Muslims can also no longer be bound by religious laws such as the Shariah.
Under Pakatan Harapan’s freedom of thought, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of the media, etc., doctrine, God and religion can now be questioned. We will be able to revisit and re-examine the authenticity of the so-called ‘Holy books’. The New Testament Bibles were not written by Jesus and are based entirely on hearsay. We also do not know the authors of the Old Testament. The Qur’an was not written by Muhammad but was written after Muhammad died and, again, is based entirely on hearsay.

That would make all the Holy Books of the Jews, Christians and Muslims questionable and open to challenge. And if the Holy Books of the Jews, Christians and Muslims cannot be accepted as 100% authentic, that would mean Judaism, Christianity and Islam are themselves questionable and most likely are not true.
Yes, in another Pakatan Harapan type of country, say like France, we can even make fun of Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. So, is the ‘New’ Malaysia of Pakatan Harapan really liberal and non-extreme and respects freedom of thought, freedom of expression, freedom of speech, freedom of the media (social media such as blogging included), etc., like they say?
