Batu MP denies being offered RM25mil to vacate seat for Anwar
(The Star) – PKR’s Batu MP, P. Prabakaran (pic) denied that negotiations involving RM25mil were underway in order for him to vacate his seat for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“Its fake. How can I comment on something that is fake,” he said when met at Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Aug 7).
Prabakaran, 22, the youngest MP in the House, also noted that the maker of the allegations had admitted to it being based on rumours.
“I think he likes me a lot and is making me famous,” he added.
Prabakaran was responding to a tweet by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin.
The law student then joined PKR after winning the seat.
On Monday (Aug 6), PKR Selayang MP William Leong Jee Keen said that lawmakers from his party would be willing to relinquish their seats to allow Anwar Ibrahim contest a parliament seat.
Leong denied rumours that he had been requested to vacate his seat, but said he would gladly do so if asked.
