Najib, just get my 200-page statement from the Special Branch

Najib Tun Razak has called for a governmental inquiry into the relationship between Pakatan Harapan and the US-based think-tank International Republican Institute (IRI), reported The Star. Actually, they do not need to do that because the matter had already been investigated by the Special Branch back in 2001 and they have already recorded my 200-page statement. So just get the Special Branch to release my 200-page statement regarding Pakatan’s links with IRI.

Najib calls for inquiry into ties between Pakatan and IRI

(The Star) – Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has called for a governmental inquiry into the relationship between Pakatan Harapan and the US-based think-tank International Republican Institute (IRI).

Najib argued that the cooperation between IRI and Pakatan is much worse than the letter penned to the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), which led certain quarters to accuse the Barisan Nasional administration of treason.

“If you accuse (former chief of the Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation) Datuk Hasanah (Abdul Hamid) of treason, this is a lot worse because this is direct interference in our electoral process.

“As you know in America, they even appointed a special prosecutor to investigate whether the Russians interfered in the US presidential election (in 2016).

“This is a very serious matter, as we should not allow foreign interference in a domestic process,” he told reporters in Parliament on Tuesday.

Earlier Tuesday (Aug 7), IRI refuted claims that it had worked with the Opposition prior to the May 9 general election to topple Barisan.

The IRI is said to be closely-linked to senior Republican figures and former high-ranking US intelligence officers.

Pakatan leaders denied claims by the think tank that it has been working with Opposition parties here since 2002 to topple the then Barisan-led government.
