Daim, to tell you the truth, I couldn’t give a hoot if you were appointed the advisor to government or the new Finance Minister through a ‘backdoor’ Senatorship.
What concerns me most is the real reason you represented Malaysia to China, particularly since the stuff you discussed while there encroached on the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Finance.
It would be pointless for you to harp on your role in the Council of Eminent Persons (CEP) as nothing you say or do can justify your interference in matters that the CEP clearly has no jurisdiction over.
You’d be better off instead telling the people the real reason Lim Guan Eng is forbidden from entering the People’s Republic of China and why Mahathir chose you to replace him.
I think it’s high time the people knew.
