Umno hoping to make a deal with Anwar
That is why these Umno leaders are very confident that Umno will be back in power before the end of this year (and actually announced it). But Umno can only come back into power in an alliance with the Anwar faction if they silence Najib and kill him off. It is to Umno’s interest that Najib is exterminated. So, they want Najib to STFU and go crawl into his grave.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
Today, Wan Saiful Wan Jan said, “We must have a very strong reason to deny someone freedom of movement, which is a human right. We cannot treat a student who borrowed RM20,000 to study the same way we treat someone who swindled RM2.6 billion for personal gains. Hence, I lifted the travel ban.”
When someone like Wan Saiful, who is supposed to be a highly intellectual person, says something like that, does Nazri Aziz expect Najib Tun Razak to just keep quiet and say nothing? When Najib keeps quiet, they say since Najib does not reply that must mean he is guilty of all allegations. When he replies, they say he should just STFU and say nothing.
“We cannot treat a student who borrowed RM20,000 to study the same way we treat someone who swindled RM2.6 billion for personal gains,” said Wan Saiful
In fact, one of the criticisms that Pakatan Harapan made against Najib was his lack of response. Najib quite rightly felt that even if he replied to the allegations they will never believe him anyway so might so well he just keep quiet and say nothing.
Now that Najib refuses to remain quiet any longer, and he defends himself, many Umno leaders are telling him to STFU and stop talking.
If Najib does not defend himself then who is going to do it for him? No one in Umno is defending him. Not the President, Deputy President, Vice Presidents, or Supreme Council Members are coming to Najib’s defence. They have thrown him under the bus so Najib needs to defend himself and fight for his own survival.
Tunku Abdul Rahman hated Mahathir till the day he died
The Umno leaders say when all the other Prime Ministers before this retired they stopped talking and did not criticise the new Prime Minister. That is nonsense. Tunku Abdul Rahman criticised Mahathir and even joined Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah’s Semangat 46 to oppose Mahathir.
Tun Hussein Onn did not openly challenge Mahathir but he refused to Join Umno Baru as a way of delivering his subtle message that he does not support Mahathir.
Mahathir announced his resignation in mid-2002 and for 15 months before he handed power to Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi he had numerous meetings and discussions with Abdullah as to how he wants Malaysia run once he hands power on 1st November 2003.
When Abdullah did not follow Mahathir’s instructions, Mahathir made a move on him, contrary to what the Umno leaders say
And when Abdullah did not follow ‘The Agreement’, Mahathir openly attacked him in June 2006 and continued to attack Abdullah, and even resigned from Umno, until Abdullah stepped down as Prime Minister.
And did not Mahathir criticise Najib in 2013 for giving too much face to the Chinese while neglecting the Malays who are the ones keeping Umno in power? And was it not Mahathir who in that same year sabotaged 1MDB so that it would run into trouble, which he then used as the excuse to oust Najib?
So, what the hell is Nazri and these Umno leaders talking about? And why should Najib not defend himself against lies and false news? Is that not his human right? Since when does one lose one’s human right just because one is no longer the Prime Minister?
Tony Blair spoke up to defend himself when he was accused of being a war criminal
Last year, Tony Blair was accused of war crimes regarding the 2003 Iraq War and there were calls for his prosecution. Tony Blair came out to defend his actions and explained that they sincerely believed that Iraq had WMDs and only later did they find out the allegation was not true.
Did anyone tell Tony Blair to STFU? If you accuse Tony Blair of being a criminal, and his ‘criminal act’ resulted in 500,000 deaths in Iraq, then he has a right to defend himself. So why does Najib not also have any right to speak up and defend himself?
Actually, many of these Umno leaders who are attacking Najib want to ‘bury’ him so that Umno can make a deal with Pakatan Harapan.
Umno is hoping that Mahathir and Anwar will split and then Umno can take advantage of the split and come back to power
Umno has 54 seats in Parliament. PKR has 49. DAP 42. PAS 18. PPBM 13. And PAN has 11.
The Umno leaders are hoping that PKR’s party election at the end of this month will cause a split in the party. The Azmin Ali faction is with Mahathir while the Rafizi Ramli faction is with Anwar Ibrahim.
If Azmin wins, which may most likely happen, the Anwar faction may want to break away from Mahathir. If Pakatan Harapan splits into two — between the Mahathir and Anwar faction — then Umno’s 54 seats can help the Anwar faction against the Mahathir faction.
Zahid and Anwar get along well but Najib must be buried before any deal can be made
That is why the Umno leaders want to get rid of Najib. Anwar and Najib will never get along. But Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Anwar get along well — and even Mahathir said so. So, if Mahathir and Anwar go their separate ways, Umno can team up with Anwar and return to being the government.

What’s wrong if I speak up, Najib tells Nazri
(FMT) – Former prime minister Najib Razak said his resignation from Umno posts did not mean he should not speak out on current issues, after former minister Nazri Aziz told him to distance from the party.
Najib said he felt obliged to respond to accusations against the administration he had led.
“I am also entitled to defend my policies and to clear the perceptions and some of the manipulation of facts and figures by the new government,” Najib told reporters today.
“I think that’s only fair. Self-defence is a right given to any individual and citizen, that is why I am exercising my right to explain our policies and the reason why we have done certain things,” he said.
Yesterday, Nazri questioned Najib for being vocal, saying the former Umno president was making it hard for the party to move on in the wake of its general election defeat.
He also said it was time for Umno to stop associating itself with Najib.
Najib had actively campaigned for Barisan Nasional in the recent Sungai Kandis by-election. He has also been issuing statements criticising various policies of the Pakatan Harapan government.
Najib today said he had not interfered in party matters following his resignation from Umno after the May polls.
“I have not interfered in the administration of Umno, for example, in the appointment of office bearers, and in deciding the candidate for Sungai Kandis,” he said, adding that Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has his full support.
He said he was only carrying out his duties as an MP.
