China gave Mahathir ultimatum regarding ECRL project

Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the multi-billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and Trans-Sabah Gas Pipeline (TSGP) projects are cancelled for now as Chinese President Xi Jinping and premier Li Keqiang “understood the reasons behind the cancellation” (see news item below).
But that is another lie.
The truth is, both Jinping and Li made it very clear that the Chinese government is not willing to renegotiate terms associated with the projects and would accept either one of the following solutions:
1. That the projects go ahead under terms originally agreed upon, or
2. That the projects be cancelled with compensations borne by the Government of Malaysia (GoM)
