Mahathir discusses plans to destroy Najib at Alor Setar retreat
THE THIRD FORCE
Dr Mahathir Mohamad has frantically been shifting the goalpost ever since his working visit to China bombed diplomatically.
Yesterday, it was all about Equanimity and how the Admiralty Court granted an application by the Malaysian government, 1MDB and two of its subsidiaries to sell Equanimity.
Today, it’s all about BR1M (see news item below) and how the scheme, devised to help poor Malaysians, was turning the rakyat lazy and needed to be phased out.
On the 18th of August 2018, I wrote (in red):
Dr Mahathir Mohamad keeps shifting the goalpost to divert people’s attention from his many blunders.
When he first announced the scrapping of China-backed projects to help the Government of Malaysia (GoM) reduce its debt, he never once pointed his finger at Jho Low or accused the Penang born billionaire of contributing to that debt.
But the minute Moody’s rubbished his 80.3 percent Debt-to-GDP ratio claim, Low quickly became the scapegoat and was accused of manipulating deals Najib entered with the Chinese government.
I am told, Mahathir even insisted that the charges (brought against Najib recently) be timed to coincide with Equanimity’s arrival at port Klang to rub in the idea that “the purchase of the yacht had something to do with money stolen from 1MDB.”
Despite these shenanigans, those who walk in truth and champion justice have succeeded in quashing hearsay and baseless rumours being spread by team Mahathir and have debunked many of the Prime Minister’s preposterous claims with facts.
Even Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak has consistently been able to debunk the falsehoods propagated by Mahathir and his men and crippled attempts by the Prime Minister to trigger perception that “Najib’s goose is cooked.”
The latest success by team Najib to debunk the “sham ruling by the Admiralty Court” (READ FULL STORY HERE) was the last straw.
Early this afternoon, Mahathir joined key Pakatan Harapan leaders at a retreat in Alor Setar, Kedah, to discuss Najib and plans to throw the former premier under the bus.
According to a well placed source, Mahathir established a “Najib needs to go down” think tank at the retreat which he then tasked with finding ways to place Najib under lock and key “by hook or by crook.”
Mahathir told the retreat that team Najib was dangerous as it successfully made him look stupid with facts and figures and convinced the rakyat that the charges brought against the former premier were part of a witch hunt.
The retreat explains a recent statement by A Kadir Jasin, in which the Prime Minister’s media advisor seconded Najib’s proposal for an RCI into infrastructure and energy related agreements that the previous Barisan Nasional government undertook to sign with China.
Kadir was trying to take the heat of Mahathir following the Prime Minister’s failed China trip and attempt to imply that the failure was due to botched agreements Najib and Jho Low negotiated with the Chinese.
