Anwar and the sodomy debate
Anyway, Anwar said religious sins should not be made common law crimes as long as they are committed behind closed doors. You can have orgies, gangbangs, gay sex parties, sex with goats, or whatever you wish, because your sexual orientation is your business and no one else’s concern. Just don’t do what you do in a public park.

Anwar Ibrahim is opposed to ‘archaic British laws’ that were ‘inherited’ by Malaysia when the country obtained independence in 1957.
The truth is, these ‘archaic British laws’ that were ‘inherited’ by Malaysia are actually ‘archaic Jewish laws’ inherited by Christianity, and then by Islam 600 years later. (History was never Anwar’s strong point, or Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s for that matter).
Take the sodomy law as one example (which is what Anwar was referring to). Sodomy comes from the word Sodom and Gomorrah, which is reported in the Hebrew Bible, the Book of Genesis.

In the old days, the punishment for buggery was death and until quite recently being identified as gay was practically a death sentence (it still is in some countries). The famous WWII war hero, Alan Turing, committed suicide in 1954 when it was revealed he was gay. Those who have visited the Manchester City Etihad stadium may have noticed Alan Turing Way in front of the stadium but never knew who that is.

But then why must this be confined to just sex? What about all the other religious sins? What about devil worshipping or praying to Satan? What about Sunni Muslims performing Shia rituals? What about praying to giant teapots? What about Muslims reading the Bible and praying to Mother Mary or Jesus Christ?
If all these are done behind closed doors, and even if Islam outlaws all these acts and beliefs, should the religious department ‘disturb’ these Muslim apostates, heretics or deviants? After all, they are committing all these sins and abominations in private and not in public.
Yes, once Anwar takes over as Prime Minister and he pushes to change or repeal all those laws that violate your privacy and punish you for what you do behind closed doors, then the law should be all inclusive (to use Anwar’s favourite phrase, ‘all inclusive’). Let not the ‘Islamic reforms’ be confined to just gay sex. Justice should also be given to those who love group sex, orgies, kinky sex, (in short, ‘deviant sex’), drinking parties, gambling parties, plus those who want to be ‘religious deviants’ (from the Islamic perspective) and become Shias, Christians, atheists, devil worshippers, teapot worshippers, anti-Hadith, etc., as long as all this is done behind closed doors.
