Joining Pakatan will not stop investigations into you, Fahmi tells BN MPs
(The Star) – Barisan Nasional MPs should not assume that joining Pakatan Harapan will stop them from being being investigated by the authorities.
PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said that the party’s political bureau had met to discuss the issue of the possibility of Barisan MPs joining the ruling coalition.
“The bureau understands that the rakyat made a clear decision during the 14th General Election, which is to uphold the Reformasi agenda and reject corruption, abuse of power and kleptocracy of the previous regime,” he said in a statement.
“The bureau would like to stress that joining Pakartan is not an excuse to end investigations or to close a case for any quarters,” added Fahmi, who is also Lembah Pantai MP.
On Oct 26, Jeli MP Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed joined Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia after leaving Umno a month before.
Bersatu supreme council member Datuk A. Kadir Jasin later claimed that there was a possibility that as many as 40 MPs from Umno might jump ship.
