Our enemy is Umno and PAS, not fellow PKR members, says Anwar
(The Star) – PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has said that he is taking “a cool approach” towards the intense party polls in Julau, Sarawak.
He said the Julau polls was a “family affair “ involving party members, and that he believed that all members understood the larger issue.
“I am in my constituency to focus on my work, as you can see.
“It’s an intense campaign over there, yes, but that’s democracy at work involving the grassroots members.
“Our enemy is Umno and PAS, not PKR fellow members.”
“In PKR, unlike Umno, it’s ordinary members who decide and not division chairmen and delegate.”
Anwar said as in all direct election systems, especially a newly tested one , there would be challenges, but “we will identify the strengths and weaknesses.”
He said the party elections committee will identify any issues.
“There’s no need for me to be in Sarawak to micro manage, I trust in the integrity and ability of my party members tasked to handle the elections
“I understand there are logistics and connectivity issues but l leave it to them to manage,” said Anwar, adding that he had a full programme in PD.
