‘Premature’ to announce Azmin as winner: Wan Azizah

(Bernama) – PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail described the victory announcement by Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali’s camp as premature.

Wan Azizah, who is also Deputy Prime Minister stressed that PKR’s election had yet to conclude.

“Sometimes people are excited,” she told reporters after officiating the Astro U15 Junior Badminton Championship here today.

She was asked to comment on an announcement made by Mohamed Azmin’s camp that the Economic Affairs Minister had defeated his rival Rafizi Ramli and won the post of PKR deputy president in the party elections.

On whether there would be re-election for Julau division in Sarawak following the allegations of ‘cyber-attack’ on Saturday, Wan Azizah said it was up to the party’s central election committee (JPP).

“They (JPP) will decide whether to hold (re-election) or not. I leave it to JPP to decide as a sign that we want the process to be free and fair,” she said.
