Take action against Daim for wearing slippers, MIC leader tells Loke

(The Star) – Transport Minister Anthony Loke should take action against Tun Daim Zainuddin (pic) for allegedly wearing slippers when receiving international delegations, says an MIC leader.

This follows Loke stating that Dewan Negara president Tan Sri S. A. Vigneswaran had allegedly breached security protocols and violated the dress code by wearing slippers while using the VIP lane at KLIA on Nov 14.

According to Malaysiakini on Monday (Nov 19), Federal Territories MIC chairman S. Rajah said Loke should take action against Daim for allegedly wearing slippers when using the VIP lane at KLIA.

“Daim’s (protocol) violation is greater because he wears slippers when representing the prime minister.

“Why was he not arrested? No police report lodged on this?” he told the news portal.

Rajah claimed it appeared as though KLIA officers were given instructions by the Transport Minister to only uphold the rule of law when it involves Opposition leaders.

Vigneswaran denied breaching security protocols and said he will initiate legal proceedings against Loke for his defamatory remarks.

Rajah added that Loke was behaving in a childish manner as he had accused Vigneswaran and demanded an apology from him before a police investigation was carried out.

“I am puzzled. First, he said Vigneswaran violated KLIA protocol and demanded an apology. Now, he says the matter is with the police. This shows that Loke is still immature,” he said.
