Tian Chua’s fake photo of Najib and Altantuya revealed in court
(FMT) – The High Court heard today that a photograph of two men with the late Altantuya Shaariibuu exhibited in a court document is a fake.
Action sought over doctored photo
(The Star, 7 July 2007) – Umno Youth wants the authorities to take action against an opposition party leader for his “irresponsible and rude act” of putting up a doctored photo of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak with a woman and one of the accused in the Altantuya Shaaribu murder.
The person in question is Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) information chief Tian Chua.
“Tian Chua’s action in putting the photo in his blog has elements of defamation and instigation. It clearly reflects the attitude of the other PKR leaders who will stoop low and are willing to do what it takes to twist the truth and justice to suit their narrow political interest,” said Umno Youth chief Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein in a statement.
He added that Tian Chua had gone too far this time by proudly admitting to the act and refusing to apologise.
Tian Chua: I won’t apologise
(Bernama, 6 July 2007)) – Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) information head Tian Chua has refused to apologise for publishing the fake photograph linking Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to Altantuya Shaaribuu in his web blog.
He admitted that the photograph, which he had created personally, was merely fantasy and a work of art but insisted he would not retract the photograph or apologise to anyone.
“I did it myself and it was not done professionally. If there had been such a dinner, that is how it will be perceived. The woman in the photograph was not the real Altantuya,” he said at the PKR office here.
On Wednesday, several members of Parliament had lambasted a PKR leader for deriding a national leader by publishing the fake photograph of Najib being flanked by murdered Mongolian woman, Altantuya, and political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda.
