Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman is either stupid or he thinks we are. The banning of Israeli nationals from entering Malaysia is a political move and has nothing to do with human rights.
How do you define a violation of human rights, anyway? In the way a country occupies another country’s land? In that case Malaysia is as bad as Israel since it is occupying Sabah and Sarawak against the wishes of the local people there.
Saudi Arabia does not hold any elections and one man decides the country’s leadership and its leaders come from one family. That country has also been accused of murdering many of those who criticise the government.

Are we banning Saudi nationals from entering Malaysia?
Myanmar is as bad or worse than Israel in how it treats its Rohingya minority. In fact, the Rohingya people have been stateless since WWII. Why are Myanmarese not banned from entering Malaysia?
The United States and many of its minions in Europe have declared Iran a pariah state, just like North Korea. Yes, Iran is a pariah state! But are Iranians banned from entering Malaysia?
Muslims in China also face persecution and discrimination but Chinese nationals are not banned from entering Malaysia
In fact, there are more than a dozen pariah states (seven in Africa, five in the Middle East, and two each in Europe and Asia), all which Malaysia has diplomatic relations with and whose citizens are not banned from entering Malaysia.
Syed Saddiq ini cakap karut. If you want to ban Israelis from entering Malaysia carry on. But please don’t try to link that move to human rights. If you want to use human rights as the excuse then another 15 or so countries will have to be on the ban list.

Syed Saddiq: Human rights come first
(The Star) – Malaysia prioritises human rights, says Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
That is the stand taken by the Youth and Sports Minister after the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) stripped Malaysia of the right to host the 2019 World Para Swimming Championships.
He said that if hosting an international sporting event is more important than standing up for Palestinians, that means Malaysia has truly lost its moral compass.
“We would like to kindly remind the IPC that even Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have reported that the (Israeli prime minister Benjamin) Netanyahu government is an active perpetrator of war crimes.
What has this got to do with human rights?
“Malaysia stands firmly with our decision on the ground of humanity and compassion for the Palestinian plight. We will not compromise,” he said in a statement issued to the press on Sunday (Jan 27).
The decision to revoke the hosting rights was made by the IPC governing board at its meeting in London, England on Sunday, after the Home Ministry said it would not allow Israeli para swimmers to enter the country and participate in the event.
Around 600 swimmers from 60 nations were expected to take part in Kuching, with more than 160 world titles up for grabs.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Malaysia would not allow Israeli Paralympic swimmers to enter the country for the championships.
