MACC questioning former PAS deputy president in RM90mil 1MDB probe
(The Star) – Former PAS deputy president Datuk Nasharudin Mat Isa (pic) is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over allegations the party received RM90mil of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) funds.
MACC sources said Nasharudin, who is the former executive chairman of the now-defunct Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMM), arrived at the MACC headquarters here at 8.40am on Friday (Feb 8) to be questioned by investigators.
The anti-graft body initiated a probe into claims that PAS was the recipient of 1MDB money after its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang opted for an out-of-court settlement with Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown.
Abdul Hadi had earlier sued for libel over an article she published on Aug 6, 2016, alleging the party received RM90mil in bribes from Umno.
It is learnt that Parti Amanah Negara vice-president Datuk Husam Musa, who was a former vice-president of PAS, is one of the individuals the MACC wants to question.
