Understanding the message from Mahathir and PAS
And in simple English that means PPBM and PAS can work with Umno (or the ex-Umno people) plus any Bumiputeras from PKR, Sabah and Sarawak to form a new alliance that upholds the Malay and Islamic agenda and that restores the Malay-Muslim government.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

To the political greenhorns, especially to the Chinese who have a very poor understanding of politics, the last 24 hours must be very confusing. So, who does PAS really support? Umno or Pakatan Harapan?
You need to look at the series of statements issued by both Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PAS over the last 48 hours to see the big picture, something most Pakatan Harapan supporters are incapable of doing.
First, Mahathir said you must be loyal to the party. But then if the party’s agenda or struggle changes then you move on because your loyalty is first to the agenda rather than to the party. This was what Mahathir said, as reported by Free Malaysia Today:
“You should leave the party. On leaving, you should be big-hearted enough to work with other people who are against the party. The choice is either you remain absolutely loyal to the party or absolutely loyal to the struggle of the party. Once the party deviates from the struggle, it is important that you remain loyal to the struggle, to the point of leaving the party or even fighting against the party.”
The agenda comes first and the party comes second
Then Mahathir said PAS supported Umno in the Cameron Highlands by-election because Pakatan Harapan’s candidate was from DAP while in the Semenyih by-election the candidate is from PPBM so PAS will not support Umno.
In other words, PAS is against DAP but not against PPBM and has no reason to oppose PPBM by supporting Umno. So, if it is Umno versus PPBM then PAS will remain neutral and will not take sides. In other words, PAS can treat both Umno and PPBM as friends.
Then PAS said they support Mahathir but only as far as the Malay and Islamic agenda are concerned. In other words, if Mahathir pushes the Malay or Islamic agenda then he will get the support of PAS, whether it is Article 153, Bumiputera privileges, native rights, Malay reservation land, the New Economic Policy or Shariah laws.
PAS further said Malaysia is now controlled by the non-Muslims mainly because the Muslims are divided and the Muslims must unite to grab back political power. And Mahathir earlier said the colonialist managed to take Melaka and eventually all the other territories in Malaya because the Malays were not united.
Umno rises again in PPBM
In fact, a lot more was said but that should suffice to give you the big picture. And the big picture is PPBM is prepared to accept anyone who wishes to cross over (or make new alliances) in the event he or she feels that his or her party has abandoned the original party struggle or agenda and that PAS is prepared to work with anyone who upholds the Malay and Islamic agenda never mind from which party.
And in simple English that means PPBM and PAS can work with Umno (or the ex-Umno people) plus any Bumiputeras from PKR, Sabah and Sarawak to form a new alliance that upholds the Malay and Islamic agenda and that restores the Malay-Muslim government.
If Anwar Ibrahim makes his move PAS will rally behind Mahathir to block him from becoming Prime Minister
