Police report lodged against Americk, Rameli, Clare, Bank Negara and Maybank

Raggie Jessy Rithaudeen lodged a police report today against lawyer Americk Sidhu, KTMB chairman Rameli Musa, Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle Brown, Bank Negara Malaysia and Maybank alleging crimes of  money-laundering and tax evasion. This is regarding the RM1.4 million that Rameli paid Clare and which they falsely declared as a payment for an out-of-court settlement between PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang and Clare.

This matter was first raised by Anwar Ibrahim last week during the Semenyih by-election campaign and the following day Rafizi Ramli confirmed that the person who paid Clare the RM1.4 million is Rameli. Hadi and PAS, however, have no knowledge of the RM1.4 million payment and neither did they agree to that so-called out-of-court ‘costs’.

Americk confirmed that a ‘third party’ had signed the cheque in front of him and that the RM1.4 million is an out-of-court settlement for the Hadi-Clare case. However, Hadi and Clare had earlier signed a settlement agreement in London that states the out-of-court settlement would involve no costs on both sides. Hence the RM1.4 million was for something else and not ‘costs’ for the out-of-court settlement.
