After 7 years and 60-70 postponements Anwar finally goes to jail
(Reuters, 10 February 2015) – Malaysia’s highest court rejected on Tuesday an appeal by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim against a sodomy conviction, sending the politician who poses the greatest threat to the long-ruling coalition back to prison for five years.
The U.N. Human Rights office, the United States and Australia said they were disappointed by the ruling and Amnesty International said it would have a chilling effect on freedom of expression.
Anwar, the ruling party’s rising star in the mid-1990s before he fell out with then Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, denied the charge that led to his second conviction for sodomy as a fabrication aimed at ending his political career.

It took seven years and probably 60 or 70 postponements for Anwar Ibrahim’s trial to finally come to an end. Anwar was allowed these many postponements in spite of many of them being frivolous. And yet the west complains that they are disappointed by the ruling and Amnesty International said it would have a chilling effect on freedom of expression.
What freedom of expression? Anwar was convicted for bonking a young man through his behind. Is sodomy considered freedom of expression? And was Anwar not allowed to defend himself to the full extent of the law?
Anwar said he was going to call 13 alibi witnesses to prove he was not at the scene of the crime but was somewhere else at that time and date in question, one of those 13 alibi witnesses his wife. How come none of the witnesses came to court to testify and help save Anwar’s ass?
Anwar was guilty like hell. And Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad arranged for His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to pardon Anwar, not for the court to acquit Anwar, so that the whole world will know Anwar is guilty of sodomy. (You acquit an innocent man but pardon a guilty man).
Najib’s trial was postponed only once, not 60-70 times like Anwar’s trial
Anyway, Najib Tun Razak’s case has thus far been postponed only once and they are already creating a huge hue-and-cry. Wait until it has been postponed 60 or 70 times and it is already seven years, by 2025, before complaining lah.
Najib is facing five trials, 42 charges, and the trial has been postponed only once and they make so much noise. Anwar was facing just one trial, one charge, and the trial was postponed 60-70 times and they still complain he was not given a fair trial.
What was that again? Pakatan Harapan’s Malaysia Baru?
Yesterday, a police report was made about the fake news of Lim Guan Eng having billions in his CIMB bank account. Even CIMB immediately came out to deny the story to help ‘save’ Guan Eng.
What about the bribes Guan Eng received for the Penang Undersea Tunnel project?
When Clare Rewcastle Brown, Ambiga Sreenevasan and Husam Musa alleged that Najib Tun Razak gave PAS and/or Abdul Hadi Awang a cheque for RM90 million, did the bank mentioned in that story immediately come out to deny the story? Until today, the bank is keeping quiet and is allowing people to believe that the story is true.
Not only that, they are also investigating the personal bank accounts of all the other PAS leaders and are going through the assets and list of cars that all the PAS leaders own — all due to that RM90 million cheque allegation.

It is like in Nazi Germany when someone reports you may have some Jewish blood in you because your great-great-grandfather was half Jewish. That is enough for them to come to your house and arrest you. Now we are seeing it in Pakatan Harapan’s Malaysia Baru.
The double-standards and hypocrisy of Pakatan Harapan’s Malaysia Baru is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

CIMB helps to clear Lim Guan Eng
(MMO) – A police report was lodged yesterday after an old video resurfaced on social media alleging that Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng had a lot of money stashed in a CIMB account.
In a statement today, special officer to the minister, Sadiq Noor Azlan said the video was fabricated to portray Lim as a dishonest person who had allegedly accepted bribery in the form of tens of millions of US dollars.
“CIMB Bank Berhad (CIMB) had on Tuesday clarified that the bank account does not exist in the bank’s records. A police report on the matter has also been lodged at the Dang Wangi police headquarters on 13 March, 2019.
“The video was viralled on social media, particularly on YouTube, to defame and tarnish the minister’s image. The fake bank account was spread with the ill-intention to raise anger, dissatisfaction and hate among Malaysians against the minister,” he said.
Sadiq advised the public to ensure the authenticity of information shared on social media and reminded that distributing false information is deemed a criminal act under various laws, including the Penal Code (sections 505, 500, 124H, 124I) and the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (Section 233).
“We hope the police and the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) will probe the YouTube account user so that the person would not continue to misuse social media to spread defamation,” he said.
Yesterday, CIMB Bank had in a statement denied the claims in the video and stated it may take legal action against any party misusing any aspect of its brand identity.
