Toll-free means you pay even if you don’t use

Yes, give the people in the West Coast and in the Kelang Valley free lunches. After all, DAP’s vote bank is in the West Coast and in the Kelang Valley. Hence DAP needs to make their voters happy. And make those who did not vote for Pakatan Harapan pay for this — those from Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan. That is how social justice works.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Clever people like me know there is no such as a free lunch. Somebody has to pay for that lunch and if you are not paying for it then someone else is. Most Pakatan Harapan people, however, believe there are such things as free lunches. But then Pakatan Harapan people do not have superior brains like me. And did I not say it is very hard to be humble when you are a genius like me?

Anyway, Pakatan Harapan made Malaysians believe that once the GST is abolished the cost of living would collapse to less than half of what it is now. That did not happen and, in fact, it went the other way — the cost of living increased rapidly.

Then Pakatan Harapan promised that Malaysians will be able to drive on the tolled highways free of charge once tolls are abolished. Pakatan Harapan did not, however, explain that Malaysians are still going to pay for these highways and this time those who do not use the highways will be paying as well.

Yes, Pakatan Harapan has not been honest about this. First the government needs to spend billions to buy over those highways. Next, the government has to maintain those highways and this will cost money as well. So, who pays for all this?

Every single sen that the government spends comes from the taxpayers. So this means all Malaysians who pay taxes pay for those highways. Hence, while in the past the highway-users pay to use those highways, now the non-highway-users have to pay for not using those highways.

Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan pay for the highways so that the DAP supporters can use free of charge

Let us say one million highway-users drive on those highways out of ten million taxpayers. So, in the past one million people used to pay for the highways while, today, ten million Malaysians are paying for it — even people in Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu, Kelantan, etc., who have never once in their lives used those highways.

Now, very few people from Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan drive in the West Coast or in the Kelang Valley. But then 100% of the oil and gas is from their states — Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan. So, the people from Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan are paying for highways that the people in the West Coast and in the Kelang Valley can use for free.

That is the opposite of social justice. Sabah, Sarawak, Terengganu and Kelantan pay but the benefit goes to those in the West Coast and in the Kelang Valley. And the Orang Asli in the Malay heartland are falling dead like flies while those in the West Coast and in the Kelang Valley get richer by the day.
