Sabah hotel says aware of latest clip showing CCTV footage
(FMT) – The hotel at the centre of a sex video scandal linked to Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali says it is aware of a clip, purportedly of CCTV footage taken on the day of the alleged affair.
“We are aware of videos in connection with the alleged case involving Haziq Aziz and Azmin Ali (that) were posted on YouTube,” a spokesman for the Four Points hotel in Sandakan, Sabah, told FMT when asked about the authenticity of the footage.
“The safety and security of our guests remain our number one responsibility. As such, the hotel is currently cooperating with local authorities and is unable to provide further information.”
The video in question appears to comprise footage from several angles, showing a lift lobby and what looks like a hotel corridor.
It is interspersed with captions mocking the three main characters said to be among those seen in the vicinity: Azmin, his political secretary Hilman Idham and Haziq.
FMT could not immediately verify if the men identified in the video were the trio.
Haziq, a former Santubong PKR Youth chief, shocked the nation last month with a video confession naming himself and Azmin as the two men seen engaging in homosexual acts in several viral clips on social media.
Azmin has strongly denied the claim, saying it is part of a conspiracy to end his political career.
Haziq meanwhile was sacked from PKR last night with immediate effect.
