Hadi snubs Mukhriz’s call for PAS to join Pakatan

(The Star) – PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang has snubbed Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir’s call for PAS to join Pakatan Harapan to unify the Muslims of the country.

“No appetite (tiada selera), that’s all,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby Tuesday (July 16).

Mukhriz, who is Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president, was reported as saying that any effort to unite the ummah was a good move, adding that PAS should not impose stringent conditions that would sideline other races.

Abdul Hadi said PAS would instead continue its move to formalise cooperation with Umno.

“When the time comes, we will forge cooperation. The general election is still far away,” he added.

On July 5, Prime Minister and Bersatu chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad invited all Malays to unite under Bersatu to avoid splitting the Malays into different camps.
