I’m prepared for arrest, says Lokman after being summoned for calling IGP a liar

(FMT) – Umno leader Lokman Noor Adam, who has been summoned by police over his claim that Inspector-General of Police Abdul Hamid Bador had lied about the authenticity of a gay sex video targeting a minister, said he was prepared for arrest.

“I am prepared, we will see how long they can detain,” he told reporters outside the Bukit Aman police headquarters.

Lokman recently said that forensic experts in Indonesia had confirmed the authenticity of the video recording, adding that there was no evidence of it being manipulated or edited.

The video showed two men engaging in homosexual activities. Former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz identified himself as one of the men, and also named Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali as the other man.

Azmin has strongly denied the claims.

Last week, Hamid said local experts held that the video could be authentic, but said the actors could not be positively identified.

This led to Lokman accusing Hamid of lying to the public.

“We are confident that the IGP is protecting a criminal. He cannot protect Haziq as he had admitted to it,” Lokman said today.

“I am asking for him to step down from his position as IGP,” he added.
