(Malaysiakini) – The expected power transition between Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and PKR president Anwar Ibrahim has been subject rife with speculation for months.

Asked today if he would set a specific date for the handover to allay these concerns, Mahathir sidestepped the question and instead emphasised that there remained work to be done.

Mahathir has repeatedly stood by his promise to pass the reins to Anwar but has declined to commit to a timeframe for it.
